EcoPlant: software for tree inventory and green space management
We built EcoPlant with Ecoverde SRL, a Turin company that works in arboriculture and urban green maintenance. Inspectors record trees, VTA checks, photos and works in one place, on a GIS map, and get the PDF report without retyping anything.

Ecoverde SRL works in agronomy, forestry and urban green management. We combined their experience in the field with our engineering to build a tool for real work: a reliable, data-driven system that makes green space maintenance simpler for municipalities and professionals.
Before EcoPlant
Paper, Excel and loose photos
Tree inspections were recorded by hand. Notes were taken on paper and later typed into Excel and Word.
Notes retyped by hand
Every inspection was written on paper first, then entered again in Excel and Word.
Photos stored apart
Tree photos lived in separate folders and had to be matched to each report by hand.
Errors and missing data
Repeated data entry wasted hours and led to mistakes and gaps in the files.
No standard, no history
Results were not standardised, so data got lost and was hard to trace over time.
We worked closely with arborists and municipalities to understand how they work, and rebuilt that process in digital form.

Satellite map with clusters
Trees, shrubs, hedges and green areas on one map. Inspectors draw points and areas directly on it, with satellite view and clustering for large sites.

Key improvements
Inspectors take photos in the app. Each image is linked to its record and goes into the final PDF, with no manual matching.
Large datasets load with no lag, so filtering, editing and exporting stay fast even in the field.
Inspectors record data from any device, even without a connection. No handwritten notes and no double entry.

Ecoverde now offers EcoPlant to municipalities and private green managers as a subscription, with plans based on the number of surveys. VTA and green space management can be used separately or together, with data shared between them.
